An example of favorable alkaline foods are lemons or currants, for example. Although it would seem obvious that lemons are more acid-forming, they do create alkaline solutions in our stomach.

Known acid builders are mainly protein-rich foods. So practically all animal products (especially meat, fish and cheese) are involved in the body’s own acid formation. Vegetable proteins, however, are just as much responsible for acidity as, for example, grains and legumes.

Of course, you can influence your acid-base balance not only through “normal foods”. More and more popular are so-called acidity regulators, which are freely available both in pharmacies and on the Internet. With such regulators an improvement can be achieved particularly fast.
An example of an acid regulating supplement is tablets. But such supplements are also available in powder form.
If you try such acidity regulators, you can count on a quick improvement of the pH value. However, no one should rely on taking acidity regulators alone to maintain a healthy acid-base balance.
Especially in the long term, a healthy, balanced diet and exercise, as well as an appropriate approach to stress is most important for the prophylaxis of hyperacidity.
